Mike Temkin has been an innovative force in both product and recruitment advertising during his nearly 35-year career.  He has integrated the philosophy and strategies of product and business-to-business advertising in his recruitment work at Shaker.  Before joining the agency in 1988, Mike spent sixteen years working with consumer and industrial clients on print, out-of-home, broadcast and special event campaigns for products and services.  At Shaker, Mike has worked on recruitment, retention and referral strategies for accounts in the health care, pharmaceutical, industrial supply, financial, manufacturing, IT, and hospitality sectors.

Mike currently manages Shaker’s Innovative Media Services (IMS) Department, a team devoted exclusively to non-traditional recruitment advertising including radio, television, out-of-home, direct mail and special events, Internet, wireless and other newly-emerging media.  Recently Mike has worked on recruitment campaigns for UPS, Target, Yum! Brands and J.B. Hunt.  Mike has been an active member of the SHRM Chapter in DuPage County, Illinois (HRA of Greater Oak Brook) for which he served as Vice President, Programming.  He is a regular speaker for media and HR associations regarding the expanding use of media in employment advertising and applicant generation.
